5 Practices to Improve Your Overall Wellness

Here at Flora Sophia, our goal is to bring more calm, joy, and wellness into your world. Health and wellness is at the core of who we are and why we create the products we do. We believe incorporating CBD into your routine is one of the main pillars of wellness, but we also acknowledge it’s not the only ingredient in the wellness formula. Here are 5 Practices to Improve Your Overall Wellness!

1. Get Active and Stay Active

Whether it is physically or mentally, it is important to stay active if you want to improve your wellness. Everyone lives a unique life, so try not to compare your abilities and limitations to others. You don't have to work out or do brain games 24/7. A little goes a long way for wellness, especially when you’re consistent! Start small by setting achievable goals and progress at a sustainable rate. 

You can set a goal for a certain amount of steps you take each day, skip the elevator, start a workout routine, or walk your dog daily (this will improve their wellness as well and they will thank you!). If walking and working out is challenging, try reducing the amount of time you spend sitting or laying in bed each day. You also don’t need to incorporate the legs, but can try getting your arms moving more with little tasks. No matter the activity, engaging your body will improve your overall wellness. Equally as important as being physically active, stimulating your mind can help improve your overall wellness. You can try incorporating puzzles and games into your weekly routine. 2. Mindful Eating Habits

Another way to improve your overall wellness is to have mindful eating habits. Monitoring and adjusting what you eat and put in your body can have a positive impact on your life. While there is not a one-size-fits-all diet, avoiding refined sugars, processed foods, and excessive calories is a healthy start. With it being so hard to keep up with what is actually healthy food and what isn’t, try keeping track of how you feel after certain meals. This can help you identify foods that don’t make you feel well and ultimately eliminate them from your diet. 

Finally, just like with CBD, it is important to know where your food comes from, who grew it, and how. You will find your overall wellness improved if you can practice these mindful eating habits.

3. Self-Care

Self-care is a very broad term encompassing many different activities, but simply put, self-care is about taking the time to take care of yourself. The possibilities are endless, yet so many of us neglect this practice. 

Try to carve out time each day or each week to check in with yourself and do something that makes you feel good. Start small by doing little things for yourself and eventually work up to making self-care a part of your weekly routine. 

Whether it is treating yourself to a small gift, getting a massage, or taking two minutes for some quiet time in your car, implementing little self-care practices is a great way to manage dealing with all of the challenges of life and ultimately improve your wellness.

4. Connect with Nature

Here at Flora Sophia, we believe strongly in the power of nature. One of our favorite ways to improve our overall wellness is to connect with the outdoors. Try to take the time to appreciate the beauty of nature. Even in our most bustling cities, you can see the beauty of nature at work. 

Slow down to take in your surroundings more and be a part of your natural environment. If leaving your house is challenging, try opening windows for fresh air, filling your home with some plants, or playing nature sounds.

In an ever-evolving technological age, we continue to distance ourselves from the natural world. But if you intentionally set time to connect with nature, you will feel an improvement in your overall wellness. 

5. Incorporate CBD + Other Natural Herbs

Finally, of course we believe incorporating CBD and other natural herbs into your daily life is a great way to improve your overall wellness. Even if you practice everything above, you still may be yearning for more help physically and mentally.
